About Emily

I grew up in sunny Scottsdale, Arizona with the type of childhood movies are made of, except the parts when my parents dragged me around commercial properties and cheeringly taught me everything they knew and thought I should love about real estate. While I begrudgingly "listened," it's clear now their tours were quite successful.

But real estate is my third career. So let’s go back to the beginning.

In 2007, I started my career as a journalist at AZTeen Magazine. My first bylines still sit in the attic. I attended The Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, and The Barrett Honors College at Arizona State, graduating summa cum laude with BA and Masters Degrees. During this time I even got to help produce a mid-morning show at MSNBC in Manhattan, and write a thesis about nonverbal cues and first impressions (and even a badass in-depth piece about the NTSB and air traffic control, but that story is too long to tell).

It wasn't until 2012 that I realized I wanted my day job to be a career; news is a lifestyle. I pushed up everything I knew about copywriting, researching and statistics, PR, and building websites to land a job at VUURR, a digital marketing agency. With the VUURRians, in Phoenix and then San Francisco, I gobbled up everything I could about technical copywriting, online advertising, marketing strategy, predictive analytics and data funneling, and branding.

This is where it comes together.

R&D, writing, high tech, property hunting - it all comes together in real estate (well, maybe not the ‘high’ in tech)! I worked with Redfin for a smidge in the Bay Area right before moving to Austin in 2014. The work I’ve done since can be found in these web pages.

My husband and I have three daughters and spend most of our time enjoying the outdoors together. I love to cook, organize, practice yoga, read, follow Jesus, and Peloton.

In 2021, the median sales price in the City of Austin was $566,500. Emily’s 2021 median sales price was $944,500.

In 2021 the average Texas REALTOR sold $1.9M in volume, the average All City Agent sold $2.4M, and Emily’s 2021 sales volume was $8.6M.

I specialize in residential real estate in Central Austin - buyers, sellers, investors, condos, fourplexes, single family, land, allthethings. I don't charge penalties to cancel representation agreements. My job is to work hard enough that you only want to work with me.

Sleep is for people without the mls. Even as I’m typing this it’s 11:37p on a week night. Do I always complain I need better work-life balance? Yep. Do I really mean it? I’m not sure it matters. At the end of the day, I’m still a glutton for hard work and problem solving. I always joke, “I work all of the time and none of the time.” I do always prioritize my clients when it’s important - and I think that’s what really matters.
